EMPLOYER COVERAGESan Jose, CA

Set the scope before the title

Write down the matters, client groups, reporting line, budget authority, work location and first-year outcomes. This becomes the standard for evaluating candidates.

Separate requirements from preferences

List jurisdictional admission, years of practice, practice-area experience, language skills, software, industry experience and travel needs separately. That lets the hiring team decide where it can be flexible.

Make the interview process usable

Name the interviewers, the evidence each person evaluates, the candidate communications owner and the person who can approve an offer. A lengthy process with unclear decision rights loses otherwise qualified applicants.

Use official sources for verification

For credential research and court resources, use the Santa Clara County Superior Court. This site does not determine admission status, good standing or eligibility to practice.

Employer questions

Questions San Jose employers ask before engaging a legal recruiter.

How long does a legal placement take?

BEGHR’s published placement timeframe is 23 to 35 days from the signed engagement. The role, compensation range, admission requirements and your team’s interview availability determine the actual date for a specific search.

How does milestone billing work?

Agree the role, estimated fee range, billable milestones and payment terms before the search begins. Billing starts after applicants are sent, under the agreed milestone plan, with invoices at least monthly during billable service delivery. BEGHR handles client billing and account questions.

Do we pay if the search does not result in a hire?

Milestone billing pays for agreed work as the search progresses, so completed billable milestones may be payable without a placement. Your client agreement specifies the billing triggers, amounts, due dates and any cancellation terms.

What guarantee applies to a legal placement?

A 45-day replacement guarantee applies: if the hire leaves within 45 days, BEGHR re-runs the search under the terms of the engagement. Repeat hires for the same role are 50% off. Confirm conditions and exclusions in your agreement.

Does BEGHR verify bar admission?

No. The employer verifies admission, good standing and any discipline through the State Bar of California attorney search and, for court-facing roles, the Santa Clara County Superior Court. BEGHR confirms what the candidate reports and flags gaps, but the official record is the only authority.
